Wedding Wednesday: Random Whites

A unique sleeved and collared wedding dress.  I love it because it's reminiscent of something slightly  colonial and you don't see something like this very often.  It's also modest!
Seen here.

These paper lace envelopes also recall a bygone, once romantic era.
It's a DIY seen here.

Although paper lace is more Victorian and the dress more colonial I think they both sort of work together in a historic sense.  They both recall forgotten details of another historical era.

Flower Friday! Coffee Filter Flower Edition

Coffee filters, both basket and cone style, are among the most unassuming of materials.
If you're a paper or fiber lover like I am you might have gazed longingly at the texture, feeling it in your hands, wondering if there could be a more elevated use for something so mundane yet having so much potential (the texture!)
Well there is, and it occurred to me that others thought the same way, what with the wide variety of coffee filter flower tutorials available.

Flower Friday!

If you make enough flowers, or do enough flower making tutorials, it almost gets to the point where you can tell how a flower was made just by looking at it.  I think some of the best handmade flowers are the ones that keep you guessing how they were made.
Here's to some flowers made of techniques or materials I haven't really featured here:

Flower Friday: Creative Gift Wrap

Gorgeous gift wrapping idea seen here.

Fall in Texas is always a long time coming and appears around November if we're lucky.  But with all the pumpkin goodness showing up since last week and TODAY being the first truly rainy dreary day since summer started, it's the most fall weather we're going to have for now (at a downright balmy 73°!) and I am totally craving this.

Flower Friday!

Almost all of the flowers I try and feature can be very versatile.  Even though most of them are pinned to decorate clothing there's no reason you can't expand your horizons and say, find some way to wire them into a bouquet, use them to top a present, to decorate your home or party... Really the possibilities are rather endless!
Here's one we haven't seen yet, calla lillies...

Flower Friday!

In an attempt to add variety I took a break from posting so many paper flowers but this edition is, again, paper flowers.

Flower Friday!

More sweet faux flowers.  By their very nature flowers, varied as they are, are pure perfection.  Even if you have your favorites, even if there are some more beautiful and some plainer than others, they are still perfection.
I love how these flowers go above and beyond yet still manage to be perfect blooms.

I think this array is just dazzling and mouthwatering!

Flower Friday! Wedding Bouquet Edition

I started out trying to do a crochet/knit flower post since I hadn't done one, but it actually turned out to be a flower bouquet post.  In any case these bouquets are definitely outside the traditional box so enjoy!

Decorative knob bouquet, also likely heavy...
I also managed to find a tutorial of how to make a similar (if somewhat slightly more awkward) knob bouquet here.

Post edit: This post inspired a new series.  Come back on Wednesday to see what it is!
